Confessions of an Interior Designer- Emerald

Dear Pantone.
You have done it once again.  You never fail to amaze me and I absolutely agree with your life choices. The transition you made from Tangerine Tango in 2012 to Emerald this year was done beautifully.  Some may not have seen that coming, but I did and was so happy to see Emerald become front and center.

Your decision to make Emerald not only a fall color, but a spring color too was brilliant.  So brilliant that even Kate Middleton is on board with your decision.  But the real question is did she inspire you?  I know that you are your own person and make your own decisions.  But at the same time, she is Kate Middleton and is pretty fabulous!  If she was your inspiration, I'm okay with that.  I digress...

In closing, Pantone, thank you for the wonderful choice of Emerald for 2013.  Not only is this a color that I am excited to see all year, but it is down right beautiful.

Sincerely.
Lauren
Dear Readers.
No, I have not lost my mind.  Yes, I am a passionate designer and loving Emerald for 2013.

I love what the Pantone brand has done for the design world.  Every year it presents a color inspiration to the world and designers run with it and that is why I love it.  Graphic designers, Interior designer, Fashion designers, and many more designers will use this color over the next year.  They will all use it differently, but at the end of the day all the designs will be unified by this one color.

To me, that is beautiful.  And for those of you who are not designers are now reading the first line of what I wrote to you again and now saying that I have indeed lost my mind.

No matter if you think I am crazy or not for basically writing a love letter to Pantone, we can all agree that this is a great color!  So go put on some Emerald and rock it!

Now on the search for the perfect Emerald accessory.
-Lauren

Perhaps this was a little ridiculous for anyone other than a designer.  Perhaps all I want to do is be a nail polish namer and this post is a step in the right direction.  Or perhaps this is just a Confession of an Interior Designer.

Emerald is my birthstone, so you KNOW I love it!

I sorta want to paint my laundry room a shade of this!
You'll have to teach me the ways of decorating with the color, but I think it makes for a lovely dress!
