Lessons Learned

A few months ago I wrote a guest post for Ty while she was studying for the bar over at Arkansassy and it was about Lessons Learned.  I loved writing the post so much that I wanted to do one of my own on my blog.  So here I am today to share with you some of my Lessons Learned.

-Don't apologize for being you.
This seems simple, but we do it everyday.  Not a day goes by that I don't read a blog where a fellow blogger is apologizing for being herself.  Be true to yourself and your true friends will accept you for who you are!

-Don't be afraid to let your hair down.
Know when you are your most beautiful and when you are most comfortable in your own skin.  Weather that is when you just get out of the shower, or in the mornings with perfect make up right before you leave the house for a great day.

-Singleness is a blessing.
Sometimes it is a blessing in disguise, but a blessing never-the-less.  It is in your singleness that you will get to do things you will never be able to do again.  It is in your singleness that the Lord is growing your relationship with Him, and it is in your singleness that the Lord is preparing you for your future spouse.

-If you have to ask if something is too tight, too short, or too low then it is.
Most likely no explanation is necessary for this one, but I will clarify that from my experience this is true 95% of the time!

-Take time for yourself and learn to say no.
My best friend has always said that I say 'no' and she says 'yes!'  What I'm saying is know your limits.  Acknowledge when enough is enough and know when to take a step back.  It is okay to savor a little 'me' time.

-Travel.
Experience different cultures, different cities, and most importantly different food.  I believe that traveling is where you truly get to know yourself(and your travel buddies).  You are out of your comfort zone and it is where you learn what is important to you.

-Be Happy.
Find happiness in the little things and live life to the fullest.

-Learn to bake.
You will find that knowing how to bake a variety of sweets will take you places in this world.  It will prove time and time again to be the way to a man's heart.  It is a definite crowd pleaser and a popular party trick.  And it's fun!

-Know how to shoot a gun.
And well.
