My Other Love Language: Coffee

Several years ago I discovered a love for coffee and it has been downhill ever since.  I have grown to love it, share the bond of coffee with others and eventually let it become one of my love languages.
If you were to ask me what my love language is I would tell you I have three:
1. Quality Time
2. Sarcasm
3. Coffee

I am a firm believer that there is a time and place for all three of those, and if they can all come together at once then it is perfection for me.  A good cup of coffee is the best way to start a morning and it is good for the soul.  I believe that a cup of coffee is one of the best ways to bond with friends.  Give me a cup of coffee(or two), no matter what time of day, and I will sit with you for hours.

When I first moved into my home I knew that I wanted it to be a place that others could let their hair down and be comfortable be it for a short afternoon visit or a long weekend stay.  So one of the first things that I purchased in preparation for being on my own for the first time was a Keurig.  Little did I know that Keurig would be the catalyst for many heartfelt conversations that have already been had in this home and God willing many more to come.

Probably my favorite thing about coffee is the bond I have made with friends and family over it.  My dad has shared his love with me and frequently when I am out of the office I will pick up two cups and bring him one back, which he always appreciates!  The cup on the top right is from a coffee date with my brother, and let me tell you I still dream about that one!  Jessica and I have even been on two coffee tours!  Yeah I know, we have a problem... trip one and two!  And lastly, working in an office with architects and engineers it is just a given.  We bond over how we drink our coffee, if there is a fresh pot, the mess that one of the guys always makes when he brews, and so much more.

So basically you could say coffee and I are in a committed relationship and I am all in!  I take mine with either a little coconut milk and raw sugar or black!  I have a theory that I cannot trust a person if they can't drink coffee black.  Call me crazy, but I think it's a good one.

How do you drink your coffee?
Do you start your day with coffee?
Someone please tell me I'm not the only one obsessed with this liquid gold!!
